All The Things You Never Knew About Me (or never wanted to know for that matter)

Here's some things about me that people might find interesting or the opposite.

1. I am not Hawaiian…but have a Hawaiian name.
2. I love to cook and was accepted to 3 culinary schools before deciding to travel the world.
3. I was a Pre-Med major.
4. I changed my major to Mass Communications – Journalism.
5. I hate to run.
6. I’ve been caught shoplifting at Wal-Mart as a teenager with my friend…and consequently was banned from Wal-Mart for a long time and had to pay a hefty fine.
7. I was caught going back into Wal-Mart but they let it slide ‘cause I was with my grandparents.
8. I am addicted to surfing the web.
9. I hate the word raunchy.

Happy Birthday To Me!

And what a celebration it was!

Actually it was a pretty calm birthday, just went out to eat with family and friends at this wonderful Thai restaurant called Salathai (sorry the picture is so bad, had to get it off the net, we forgot to bring the camera), opened presents, and chit-chatted.

MMM..Chocolate Chip Cookies....

So these cookies here are pretty good! Made some last night, oh how comforting and tasty.

Anyway! Not much has happened this week as far a planning goes besides me getting a lot of info on visas (Russian and Chinese) from Thorntree, some nice people there helped me out!
Also I entered in some of Steve Savages (the great backpacker and big inspiration) competitions! (for travel insurance, sleeping bags, sleep mats, Couchsurfing t-shirts, Teva's etc..) You can do it yourself by going here (be sure and read the bottom of the page..the small print):

Depression, Cracker Barrel, and Plan 9 From Outer Space.

Wow what a combination huh?
I'll begin with the 'Depression' was a tough a little impatient over the whole trip thing...I am just ready to go.
It's all I think about (the trip) and I own every book, have been to every webpage and talked to all kinds of people who relate to the subject (RTW trips).
It makes it really hard when all I do is work and not do anything (need to save that money)...but I calmed down later after a nice 'Grandma's Sampler' at Cracker Barrel.
I go there all the I really mean all the time...because I get a discount on food there (I waitress there on the weekends, been there for 2 years now). So I had 2 blueberry pancakes, 2 egss, 3 pieces of sausage, hashbrown casserole and then a nice piece of 'Coca Cola Cake', yeah so I probably gained 10 pounds, but it never really shows, I'm just lucky I guess.

Blood tests and more planning!

(If you're wondering about the picture...this is what I will miss when I am doggy (chocolate Cash).
Hey there, well today was not very eventful besides the bloodtest I took (just part of a physical), this is a big thing...because I am scared to death of blood tests..well needles. Last time I took a blood test the lady had to do it over and over again 'cause she just wasn't a very good nurse, eventually I passed out and by the end of the week the whole inside of my arm had turned purple...that's why I am scared of them.

February 12, 2005

I am a 20 year old girl from the USA, at the moment I live in Tennessee but I've lived in many different places...including Malaysia and Singapore and in the USA: Rhode Island, Connecticut and Texas.

I am planning to head out this summer on a RTW trip. At first it was only going to be Europe, but I've been thinking and I'd really like to get as far as possible...and maybe do a little gapwork. I've been dreaming of something like this for years, but it was only recently that I realized that there is nothing holding me back. My parents totally support me, I am at an age where I can do anything I want, and I just plain love to travel.

My interests are: Scuba Diving, Bungee Jumping, Backpacking (go figure!), swimming, webpage design, photography and writing.
