March 18, 2005Wintertime dag
Not coming from a cold weather climate, I am a bit befuddled by all the gear that's necessary just to get through the day here in Beijing without one's extremities freezing off and falling to the ground. But now having discovered that my Windstopper gloves have 'cute wee clippy things' that allow them to snap together, I can't stop snapping them. Every time we stop to go indoors, I have the urge to clip. It's all done under the guise of 'gee, if I don't clip them together, one might fall by the wayside!' How clipping them addresses that issue, I don't know - I suppose this way, I'll just lose them both at once. Greatest feat of dorkdom occurred today, though. I discovered that the cute wee clips can allow me to affix the gloves to the zipper of my puffer jacket. They dangle off me like two great big dead navy blue parrots. It also gives off a faint air of 'Mum thought I might lose these, so she pinned them to my clothes ...' Hell-o nerd. Comments
