Arthur's Seat

Today I woke up and decided to get sweaty. I walked up Arthur's Seat. There are three paths I am told, and I took the medium steepness one. It wasn't very hard at all, though had I done the hard one I would have been cursing the whole time. The walk up went through some really nice wheaty yellow areas that had purple flowers every once in a while.

Being at the top was alright and you literally are in the middle of the clouds, but the view was very hazy and you couldn't see very far. The walk down was possibly the best part because I took a different route down. The trail was covered in super soft grass at certain spots. It was almost like walking on soft green carpet, and I just wanted to roll around on it. I refrained for the sake of not getting eaten alive by the bugs. :)

I'm most likely off to Inverness tomorrow and will be staying with Dave McPhie's sister Anne. All this free accom is really helping out the budget!!! Woo hoo!!!

Glad to hear you arrived safe and are having a good time! I e-mailed your mom..since she posted something about asking me about Thailand.

You should have done the hard trail. I mean, why go half ass... :) Not rolling around was probably a good idea..sounds beautiful...see any horses? (remember our trip to Scotland....)

Vanessa, just pick a start date like Jan 6. Make sure you fly in and out on Wednesdays bc it makes it cheaper. How long do you want to stay for? I figured we could head south for a bit, and then when you had to leave you could train it back north and I could continue on southwards. Sound good?

Hey Claudia! I just got a chance to get on your web page and read your “journal” entries. It sounds like you’re having a great time. You’ll have enough stuff for a book when you’re done. I’m enjoying the reading. Traveling vicariously isn’t bad – though, it’s inspired me to seriously consider a real trip… someday… Haggis – you had a picture of it hanging in your cubical, right?

Anyway, on our next Doctor visit, we’ll have a Margarita for you. By the way, do they serve the beer warm there too?

Just wanted to say hello. Take care, Mike

Mike, depends on the kind of beer! Yes, that was a haggis on my cube wall. >:)

Vanessa, if you want to see a waterfall, I know one about 2 hours north of Bangkok. It will be winter so it won't be so hot. Or, we can head south and I'm sure there will be water falls there as well.
