GUA

After 6,000 miles and nearly 24 hours on the move, the last thing we needed was hassle at Guatemala City International Airport. Would it be sweet and short, or more like our experience at Cancun in Mexico a couple of years ago when we began to think we’d be checking in to return home before we’d even left the airport??!

It was mercifully sweet and short, with even a smile from the female immigration official as we presented our papers. Once we’d got our bags there wasn’t even the rigmarole of customs to get through, which actually threw us so much we almost hung around to see whether anyone wanted to check us out! Almost, but not quite!!

That’s it for border crossing for a few days. Next up is the road crossing at Mesilla between Guatemala and Mexico. Fingers firmly crossed!!!
