So I'm in Vic Falls and have finally found a computer with a USB AND they let me download the software for my portable hard drive, so this entry is going to be mainly pictures that I couldn't post before...

Victoria Falls!

Now that we are in Victoria Falls, half of the truck is ending their trip here. I, along with 18 others, am continuing through Botswana and Namibia through to Cape Town for the next 3 weeks. Sometimes these overland trips feel like a combination of Road Rules and The Real World. Take a bunch of strangers of all ages from all different countries and throw them together for a trek across Africa. For the first 4 weeks, we had between 10 and 25 people on the truck all from different places - South Africa, New Zeleand, Australia, England, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, and the Czech Republic. Its been a lot of fun, its an adventure in itself just being with all these different people. A few that I've really gotten to know well and will be visiting as I continue my travels around the world and a couple (Karen - you know who I mean) that I (and most of the rest of us) could do without. Now, in Vic Falls, over half of the truck is continuing in a different direction, leaving 10 of us original trekkers going down to Cape town and 9 new people joining. Its like a new tribe is forming...wait, thats Survivor....

By the way- I'm curious as to who all is reading this blog of mine... of course I know the posters are reading (thanks for posting, by the way, sorry I can't always respond quickly) but who are all you silent blogreaders out there? Post a comment with your favorite color or something...

we enjoy very much of your global trekking. I like you posing on the beach with a boat in the background. Nice view. It looks not to clean with squid beating. How on earth people can eat squid or octpus from the sand without washing. How is the taste is pretty interesting. Keep up your writing for the remain journey. We look forward to it. Have a splendid time of the treking.

Nice Pic's. One Question for ya! How did you get on top of the elephant? Is it like the movies where they wrap their trunk around you and place you on their backs? ;)

Hey- Congrats on making it to Victoria Falls. I can't believe they fit 150 students into that classroom. Just looking at those women waiting at the hospital to go into labor makes me appreciate UM hospital a little more =) We just got back from the Dominican Republic and had a great time, now it is back to work and to reality. Now that your palm is dead will you be able to update your blog? Hope so! I love reading all about your adventures. Take care!

Hey there,
I've been following along with you on your whole trip and love it. It's been interesting and quite beautiful. I had the photo of the Thames as my background for a while and now the sunset off the coast of Zanzibar is up (can't stop singing the Billy Joel song though, so it may have to go soon enough!). It seems that you're learning a lot about the people in the countries you visit and I'm fascinated to learn along with you. Can't wait to read more.
Be safe!

Great pictures! I am not sure I want to order octopus next time we go to a restaurant. They don't look appetizing. How big is the elephant anyway! You and Karen Looked small up there. Love to read your blog. Appreciate your taking time to share your adventures with us. Take good care of yourself!

Hey sweetie. Your head just isn't flat enough. Try sleeping on it at night. I got your text message on Saturday, I was at Meijer's with a cart load and I couldn't get home in time. :( Better luck next time! Got your postcard too. Next time send the Rhinos!

Hi Michelle - I sent a note a while back about floorpans, and have since been silently reading and enjoying your pictures. My favorite color, much like yours I think, is Blue, as in Go Blue!

Your adventures are very inspiring, especially considering the only other country I have ever been in is Canada!

Hi Michelle. Lisa, Mia and I just got back from the Petosky area yesterday. Now that Mia is crawling, she's a bit less tolerant of the car seat. There were times yesterday when It felt like we were driving to Botswana. :)

Love the pictures. I was shocked at the picture of the women about to go into labor. Do they at least get a tent for the actual birth?

Hey Dale, Mia is crawling already? When will she be crawling to her first gymnastics lesson? :)

There is an actual birthing room for the delivery, but until then they just sit barefoot and pregnant on the lawn!

Hey Michelle!
Just checking in to see what you've been up to - I'm going to be looking for my next great adventure, so keep up the good research work for me!

Hey Michelle... amazing photos, wonderful stories... thank you so much for sharing... always look forward to reading your blog. Definitely interested in learning/adopting your newly learned octupus beating techniques, figure I can get alot of use out of that back here... though most days I feel like the octopus.
Your Mt K segment is beyond impressive... but would have been even more so had you climbed it in heels. :P Next time, right?
Stay safe, rest them feet, and please keep the stories and photos coming!
.. oh, and dont leave any empty coke bottles laying around... I hear it starts problems... :)
