A Quick Bout of Depression

Feeling very low this morning, had a thought about coming home. And it all started with a 'Battery Low' signal...
I've brought a cheap Palm Pilot and loaded it with books to read. And as the manual stated, when I changed the batteries I did it bloody quickly. Unfortunately the piece of crap wouldn't switch on. When it did it had reset and I'd lost them all! My Books! I went for some stodge for breakfast to help comfort me, and just look at them! sat there with there morning coffee reading their books! Inconsiderate Bastards!!!!!!

I went off to take photos of places I'd been before, and as usual was hassled by Tuk-Tuk drivers. They'd picked the wrong guy on the wrong day! I went off to a second hand book store and bought the cheapest, longest book by an author I was willing to read. It cost me one hundred baht.

I headed to my Chiang Mai 'local' for a couple of beers and got talking to Jerry, a plumber from Bristol. we talked all the usual stuff, but the one thing that stuck was how to say 'No Thank You'. For some reason it's not in my phrasebook! He headed off early (day trip to Burma in the morning to renew Thai Visa) and I decided to head to a bar near my guesthouse.

Dee-Dees was near enough empty. The bar has two 'movie rooms' and I asked if they were free, one was, so I grabbed 'I Robot', ordered a couple of beers and headed upstairs. The movie room is a TV and DVD player in front of a big L-shaped sofa in the pool room. I put the movie on and got comfy. The movie wasn't bad (I bet they butchered the book though). I headed downstairs and had a beer and chatted with the bar girls whilst an American pet talent contest played on the TV. It was only 11pm but I called it a night.

Just in the middle of decorating the front room and Forest lost again so everything normal here. Your bound to get pissed off every now and then don't let it grind you down. By the way what is a farang, it sounds like something you get free with a packet of cornflakes.

So you're in chiang mai too, eh?
Let me know if you want to meet for a beer, I could use someone to talk to.
