Ours is the story of two people and one dream...

Lisa, originally from the Midwest, has been living in San Diego, California for the last five years completing her graduate work in Traditional Chinese Medicine (think acupuncture). At 25 she has already travelled in Europe, Southern Mexico, Guatemala and China. She is a dynamic and creative woman with a good head on her shoulders and her feet (preferably bare) on the earth.

Jim, also 25, grew up in New England but has spent time travelling and working all over his native country. After studying business in college his interests have taken a decidedly different turn to pursue social work. For the last two years he has worked at a homeless services agency in San Diego. Jim is a dreamer with an enthusiastic heart and a zeal for the human condition.

The two of us have scrapped and saved, quit our jobs, and plan to be gone to see the world for a year or so. The international adventure takes off in September of 2004 when we depart for Ecuador and points in South America, but the real journey began on June 23rd 2004 when we got engaged.

Since then we have embarked on the mother of all roadtrips: Driving from San Diego to New Hampshire in about two months. The idea was to see some of our friends and family (and our country) for some quality time before we embark.
