I don't think I like blogs

I have to admit that it is probably significant that we've been on the road now for six months and it's taken me this long to get started with a blog.

I like reading other people's, though my dedication does waver when I'm actually travelling.

The thought of writing my own has assuming a kind of terrifying status in my mind, though. I got completely paralysed by the thought of having to put 'stuff' out there on a regular basis.

The notion of sharing random thoughts with strangers and the net in general seemed odd and off-putting. I spent whole nights trying to pick apart why it was that I was so frightened, ending up only with the vague notion that I disliked the idea of being a less 'private' person.

I told myself that there were people in this world who were clearly intended to blog, and then there were people like me, who found it kind of freaky. I have never felt any desire whatsoever when at home and leaing my normal life to just start proclaiming my thoughts to the online world at large.

But something kept bugging me, and so I have begun to craft this little space online where people who know me (and it seems impossible to assume that people who don't might read this!) can see what we're up to and can share some of the things we're seeing if they wish.

And I think I'm actually starting to like it.
