Buenos Aires Again

We left Montevideo & returned to Buenos Aires for a few days.

We went to the main square , in front of La Casa Rosada , the presidential palace one afternoon to witness the weekly vigil kept by the Madres de la Plaza de Mayo, the women whose children disappeared between 1976 & 1983 in what is known as the Guerra Sucia (Dirty War ) It is estimated that 30,000 people disappeared in those years , most still unaccounted for, under the military dictatorship that ruled in Argentina. We were very moved by the event .

On Sunday we returned to San Telmo to spend the day again amongst the buzzing crowds & really as a last memory of Buenos Aires , a very exciting city.
Today , our last day here it is raining. As it is only our 3rd day of rain in over 15 weeks in South America we can't really complain !

Tomorrow we leave for Brazil. Hopefully I will find some internet stations there which have facilities for putting photos on the site !
