More Pics

More photos...

Yesterday I let off by posting the view from the nunnery near Samye, but here are two of the adorable nuns and them giggling after I showed them the first photo.

The scenic ferry we took to Samye and back

Here is Anne tending to the donkey

Everest 1

Everest 2

I tried shooting in black and white
for a bit of drama. I think it works.

Sunset on the night before my b-day

Morning at Everest

A closeup so you can see the snow blowing around up there

Along the yak trail to Nepal. This is near where our driver asked nomads for yoghurt.

The Intrepid crew- from l-r:

Ant, me, Ric, Tom, Tsering, Anne (OZ), Wongdue (guide), Wongdue (driver), Scott, and up on top are Anne (Paraguay/Dutch) and Mark.

My birthday crown and finally my amazing cake!!

Check back, maybe I'll actually WRITE something tomorrow.

I lied, I somehow deleted about 10 of my pics so I am reinserting them HERE:

Mang!!!! I love your pictures, so beautiful. The one of the lake made me want to go on vacation myself. Everytime I read your updates I get jealous. Keep having fun. I miss ya, mang!

Wow! The Everest pics came out great! So beautiful and peaceful........Thanks for posting so quickly.

I would have to agree with Amy about the jealousy thing...Here we are in the states - slaving our lives away, working for the Man (not God but the other Man), only a few weeks vacation.....I guess we must take pleasure in the little things- like hot showers! You take cold showers and see Mount Everest and I take hot showers and drive to work. :P

Where are you headed next?

Hey Claudia - just caught up with your travels afetr a few weeksd, and the descriptions and photos of Tibet had me in tears!! It took me straight back to my trip there - your journey sounds almost identical to the one I took. It was fantastic to relive it again through your pages. And did you plan your birthday to be at Mt Everest to outshine MY last birthday at the Taj Mahal??????!! (Well it was bloody good luck if it wasnt planned - can you possibly imagine anything more fantastic than a birthday at Everest?) As the trip grows more distant, you'll find your love of the place grows greater. Now you must try and see 'Kundun' soon! Catch ya layterrr babeeeee. XXTerry.
