The China Daily does it again

I can't help it -- every time I turn to page four of the China Daily I end up busting a gut laughing. Here are a few briefs from the May, 14, 2004 edition:

Warning on Internet medicine
Medicine and related products are becoming more easily available on the Internet, but the Shanghai Food and Medicine Supervision Administration warned that some might be harmful to people's health, reports Xinmin Evening News.

The administration recently found a man selling fake hymens on the Internet. Claiming he was a PhD from Fudan University, the man said these were high-tech man-made hymans, but they turned out to be composed of plastic film and suspicious liquid.

Officials also received complaints about the selling of fake Viagra on the Internet. Experts say people should follow doctor's advice to buy medicine through reliable channels.

Diners urinate in the bedroom
A restaurant decorated like a huge toilet was opened in Kaohsiung, Taiwan Province, by two men who got the idea when they were in the toilet, reports Shenzhen Economic Daily.

All of the tables and chairs in the restaurant are toilets of different sizes and styles. But the restaurant's bathrooms are fitted up to look like bedrooms or studies.

The restaurant's menu lists its dishes as No 1 toilet, No 2 toilet, etc.

Here are a few other amusing headlines:
Child-like grandpa breaks leg
Squirrels' frolics to cheer tourists
Men nearly killed by delicious globefish
