Tsunami, We are OK

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are OK. We are deeply saddened by the loss in Sri Lanka, India, Thailand and Indonesia. Our hearts go out to the local folks as well as travellers. Please consider making a donation to Mercy Corps toward this effort.

Matt and Robin - I am so glad to hear that you are fine. Ironic that it took such disaster to finally get my lazy (and busy) butt to look up your blog site. My best wishes for a safe new year, wherever your travels take you. As for me, i am cooling my heels (literally) in Boston, where everyone is still very happy about the Red Sox. Cheers, cie

Happy New Year 2005! We are so thankful to God you decided to go to New Zealand and were safe. We had already sent money to C.A.R.E. so possibly we can send to Mercy in Portland by the end of January. If you decide to volunteer, please be safe. Continue with your travels and experiences this year and have as great and exciting of a time as last year.

Happy New Year's from Central Oregon where it is snowing! We've been thinking about you two plenty and it is absurd that it takes a Tsunami to get us to your blog. After several days if internet difficulties, we are finally online. So glad to know you are fine. So immense a tragedy this is, that we are all affected, the whole planet, so are any of us really "fine"?

Amy and I both felt the urge to get on a plane and go volunteer, but we realize our life presently is to focus on Maya and raise her the best we can. Twenty years from now we'll be able to live our lives differently... :-)

Love and happy travels to you,

Steven and Amy

Matt and Robin Happy New Year! So glad you had left the area of the tsunami. I was watching the horrific pictures of all the dead bodies and was very greatful we didn't have to worry about trying to find you guys. It is too hard to wrap your mind around the magnitude of this disaster. The pictures from down under are amazing! Happy traveling!

Happy New Year, Matt and Robin! Thanks for the update to let us know you're okay. This catastrophe is gut wrenching and overwhelming for us here. I can't imagine what it must be like for you having just been there. Take care and we wish you all the best of everything in 2005!

What's a red bull with nicotine? All I've drank lately is water and Speights beer! oh, and a mojito in Wellington NZ.
