Riley in Southeast Asia

Riley has been enjoying himself in Southeast Asia......He's been to Thailand, Laos and now, Vietnam!

Riley in the Portland International Airport .....(anxiously awaiting his first flight.)

Here's a shot of Riley hanging out on the famous backpacker strip, Khao San Road in Bangkok.

Riley really liked the Soppong River Inn, he found a praying mantis that was almost as big as him!

Here is a photo of Riley on the slow boat to Lao.

This is a photo of Riley outside of the UNESCO office in Luang Prabang. The office contained materials on the inventory of sites and architectural features associated with the city as a World Heritage Site.

Riley is jumping for joy at visiting the That Luang, in Vientiane, Lao.

Riley in Hoi An, Vietnam, modeling his new conical hat.

Riley enjoyed walking around the tomb of Tu Duc, the fourth Emperor of Vietnam. The tomb and associated buildings are in Hue, Vietnam.

Here he is, captain of the wooden tour boat in Halong Bay!

Riley at Suk 11, our hostel in Bangkok, catching up on some light reading!

Riley is enjoying some down time on the Andaman Coast, at the Posideon Bungalows!

Hi Matt and Robin,

Thanks for the update on Riley's travels- we were wondering how he was enjoying the trip - and how well he was being treated! I'm so glad you provided us with some reading and viewing material since there is no baseball to watch anymore - who cares what Boston and the Cardinals do tonight!!!

Matt,
I'm inspired by your traveling around the world. Keep me posted on your experiences in Vietnam. I was born there, but never had the chance to revisit.

Guys,

I just found your "Intrepid Travelers" business card in my desk, so I checked-up on you. What an awesome adventure! The grasshopper is... really strange... but I can already see a whole photo album devoted to him on your coffee table. Good luck and keep having fun!

Adios,
Jason

Happy Thanksgiving! From everyone here at Bob's house -Bob and Meg, Mom and Dad, Pam and Don, Daniel, Matt, Cortney and Dave - Haven't heard from you in awhile - are you taking a slow boat to Aussie land?
We stopped in and saw Gloria in Albany- she looks great. We stayed for supper and conversation. Had a nice evening. We see Riley is having a great time seeing all the sights, I hope he makes it to the top of the Sydney Harbor Bridge! We picked names for Christmas - there was some debate as to whether or not to include you guys this year - Steph definitely wanted you in because she wants a great gift from some exotic locale - of course you didn't get her name! You do have Meg and Michael.
Jim has Robin and I(Pam) have Matt so if you want a deposit made to an account or AMEX checks mailed somewhere to put towards your trip let us know! Let us know how you're doing and where you are, we worry when we log on and there are no updates to the blog. Love from all in Saugerties.
