This has been the longest day of my life.

Hard to believe that I start heading home today.

This was the official end of the trip - some people were flying out in the morning, others in the afternoon, a few were staying on. I was too lazy to deal with moving to a hostel, so I paid $70 to spend an extra night in the hotel.

Was up and in the dining room at 7am to bulk up for the culmination of our trip: the Great Wall of China.

Got up disgustingly early once again to visit the Summer Palace.

Today was ridiculously busy - we were up early to visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City with a local guide.

Datong was a small city with not much to offer, so we really only saw the area around our hotel.

We had one more day and night left in Pingyao, before an early rise and long bus ride to the northern city of Datong.

We arrived in Pingyao at a disgustingly early hour.
