WOW bloody WOW!!!!
ok caught the bus up the mountains me feeling like shit still so the start was bloody awfull but soon fell asleep thanks to legal things that knock you out here. any way spent the night on the bus then about 6 in the morn arived at this little villagewhere we changed busses to a local bus. we promptly clined on the roof it has to be done on indian busses, but were just as quiokly told to get down. this happened one more time befoe he explaned the were police in the next village and we cold go up after that. so we sat in side like good little girls untill we were allowed to go up. this then proved to be bloody uncomfortable and scary6 as we were hurtling along a little noubtain road with a massive drop the other side of us. as soon as we reached manicaron (not sure if corret spelling) that was all forgotten this place is BEAUTIFULL!! a rapid river running throught the middle, houses scattered up on the jaggered hillside. with massive mountains all around some still snow capped! the house we were staying at was right at the top of the village so a hike up there with rucksacks soon knackered us out.
the place we are staying has 2 tiny rooms on the roof so we took these, they were like little woodem huts, along with homely things like orniments and ohh yes what the valley is famous for a chillum and some challis was left for us….. nice!sarah had stayed there for a long time before so she knew the owner well. here you ate as the fanilly so the were no menus or anything you just ate with them which was much nicer. we also got invited along to the familly party for the celebration of one of the female godessess. this included dancing, eating, and loads of music in the small windy streets. we were asked to dance so had to try to do the traditional dance. this was made even funnier by the fact i was wearing a saree (again dont know how to spell it!!)…how very indian.
spent the first day hiking to the next village then ended up staying the night and connibg back the next day. we were dressed for the sun shine when we set of but it gets bloody cold bloody quickly in the mountains i had forgotten what it was like being cols! then a couple of days lounging and lying in the naturall hot baths they have there from the springs and just relaxing in the surroundings it realy was like it was a picture and i wasnt really seeing it.
the final day we did a massive treck up the nountains to 2 of the villages, and meet some of the local people and dogs that followed us for most of the trip (the dogs incase you werent sure!!) this was a bout a 7 k treck up but only seemed to be 1 comming down i dont think the mountain had shrunk but im not sure. maybee just climbing it in flip flops wasnt the best idea?? my feet bloody hurt but even though i took good shoes with me i left loads of stuff in thailand ans as i wasnt planning on going to the mounytains they were still there, bugger!!
