Raffles Hotel

I noticed when I went to bed that I didn’t include the most famous hotel in Singapore and my taste of an authentic Singapore Sling! So:

Yesterday morning Rumi and I happened to see Dale and Kiyo at the breakfast table so we invited them to come to Sentosa island with us. I made them stop off at Raffles Hotel first though. It’s a colonial style hotel, I think the only one left in Sinapore in that architectural style. Anyways, it was the birthplace of the Singapore Sling so of course I had to go there and get one!! Although the hotel is very posh, the main bar there let’s tourists who aren’t dressed properly to go in and have a drink (second floor). Free peanuts and the freedom to throw the shells on the floor = mayhem and mess for the bar!! we definately took advantage of the peanuts, Rumi and I ate enough for it to be considered lunch! Our waitress kept refilling our bowl of nuts and was kind enough to teach us Malay words for Thank you, you’re welcome and good day. DOn’t ask me to remember though!!!

I’ll see if I can upload some pictures soon.
