Today was one of the most beautiful days to have the Remembrance Day classic ball hockey game. The weather was sunny and warm. Doug showed up to play goal. We had a decent showing. Had Penner jersey his friend, Charlene ran her ear into Dave’s elbow, and I think Doug pulled a muscle during a spectacular stop. A good 3 hours or hockey.
Later that night, Charlene, Calvin and I went to the Ranch for the official wrap up party of the Canadian Finals Rodeo. I was fun to get out for a little while. We got there early, got a table and chatted until it got a little fuller. There was a pub crawl crowd that kicked off the real party because before that, only 2 or 3 people were dancing on the floor. We got a lot of smoke machine smoke in our lungs and had a real close up view of the Coors Light “Silver Bullet” girls (black, assless, skin tight, chap wearing girls with little boy cut black spandex daisy dukes, silver vests, and black straw cowboy hats) doing a little Coyote Ugly dancing. The music was a mix of country and older pop (They played some Spice Girls and Handson Brothers Mmm bop). I was surprised at all the pub crawlers that knew the words to the country songs.
We left when it got too crowded. But not before a boy started trying to chat me up while I was dancing with Calvin and Charlene. They ended up standing there staring at us while I tried to figure out a way to politely say no or indicate to them in some way to try and help me get away.
Plus side, he thought I was going to the UofA.
Down side, pointing out that I was the only Asian there (but it’s apparently hot that I like “white” music).
