Last night Charlene and I had a great time at Bon Jovi. I think she might have lost her voice today from all the screaming… It was a fiasco to get there, just because we had a big plan to meet and take the LRT to avoid the traffic but that just didn’t work out because Stadium station had the FIFA U20 game going on. So, our plan to be there 1 hour early became a panic to get there on time. In the end, we had time to spare and stood in the souvenir line for an hour while the first of 2 warm up bands played. The crowd for the tees was crazy and there’s no air conditioning so it seemed like an endurance test. Squished between people; sticky skin; heat from outside and all the people. It was a bit gross.
A 15 minute intermission between each warm up band. The first was Doc Walker, and they were a good country band to tie in their new country themed CD. The second band, Tupelo Honey, wasn’t so good for either of us. Too hard rock.
Jovi opened up with a couple of their oldies that got the whole crowd standing! Interspersing their new CD tunes with their oldies was a good way to go. They even threw in a couple of covers. The only thing was I thought they ended quite early. But it was because they were going to do 2 encores. The first was 2 songs, one a cover and the other off their new CD. The second encore had a cover, a oldie and one more new one.
