I realized that as a backpacker, you have to be bolder. Dane asked the ladies at the tourist office to find accommodation for us and got them to call the B&Bs closest to us to see if there was availability. And then he asked to leave our packs in their office so we could tour the area pack-free.
After dropping our bags off at the cute, grandma owned B&B, we starting walking towards the Canadian cemetery for the war dead. It was a much longer walk than we all thought and Rob was convinced to stick out his thumb as cars passed us by. I just couldn’t do it, I’d turn and face every car with a smile but I could not actually stick my thumb out.
Many drivers smiled as they shook their heads, kicking up the dust into our faces. It actually didn’t take that long for some guy to stop. We hopped in right quick, Dane in front, and the driver actually dropped us right at the front!
Stupid thinkg won’t let me upload the one pic I’ve got and I don’t know how to use paint to make it smaller, I guess NO PIC FOR YOU!
