Last Days in Australia

So Mickey Blue came with me to Circa, a posh restaurant, for my final dinner in Australia. Thanks for entertaining me on my last week in Oz.

We were completely underdressed. I didn’t feel the slightest bit uncomfortable though except when our wiater, James, came to give us the specials I felt like he was talking down to us. Needless to say, no tip for him! hah! he also kept startling us with his quiet and stealthy ways. One mintue you’ve just finished off your glass and the next second, he’s right beside you picking it off the table. Usually, that’s a good sign of a waiter but he was also hovering… After the mains, he even swept the table clean of crumbs before dessert. And when you left the table, he would fold your linen napkin into either a suit jacket for the men or a sailboat for the ladies. I found it funny to watch him fold the napkin because he did it so delibrately and slowly, I was surprised he managed to finish before the patron got back from the bathroom.

Food was excellent! I had braised duck medium rare on a bed of beetroot risotto and orange jus. Dessert was some kind of poached pear with panacotta and Mike had a Baked alaska bomb thingy with poached pineapple. SO GOOD!

For my last day in Bris, Mike and I basically did nothing. We wandered the city (in the rain), watched a movie (Click with Adam Sandler. Don’t watch it. we only did cuz it was the next one to start.) and we had a quick meal at Elephant and Wheelbarrow in the mall before he dropped me off at the train station to catch a train to the airport.

This is us at Streets Beach just before the movie was to start.
