Well, I’ve just been out the last 4 days job hunting, cold calling and emailling. Sadly, nothing.
I did meet with Joci’s brother’s friend (a bit of a distant connection), Mark L. (accountant working for a joint venture b/w qantas and Virgin Blue) and he sent my CV to the recruitment companies his company uses. I got a meeting out of them both but neither had jobs for me. Actually, the Michael Page consultant basically told me there was no work for me, summer is slow, don’t hold your breath. Robert Half (which has a reputation for not responding to my queries) was more upbeat about it. Said the same thing about summer being slow season, esp. leading upto Christmas but she said with the nature of the business, things could change at any moment.
I’m looing forward to watching Harry Potter on opening night tonight!! Going with Andie, Mona (CDN of course), and a couple other people from our house, Matt and Annik.
Also, I can’t wait to see Xavier when he comes! Ex-CI-Ting! He hasn’t mentioned when or where he arrives or where he plans to stay but I’m guessing an email will come soon.
