Tango & Samba Tour at Iguassu falls
Kate and I at Iguassu!
WOW
I have never seen anything quite as amazing in my life. They are so huge and after visiting the Brazillian side, the Argentinian Side, doing a helicopter ride over them, a speedboad ride in them, walking through the rainforest (and boy did it rain!), abseiling down a small waterfall in the rainforest and zipwiring through the rainforest I feel I know the area quite well!!
The helicopter ride was amazing, 1 because I have never been in a helicopter before and 2 because the view was amazing. The only downside was that my ear infection decided to come back in my other ear – helicopter rides are not recommended with ear infections, it was extremely painfull!! After a couple of painkillers and a 3 hour walk around the Brazillian side of Iguassu I felt a little better and was glad I hadnt missed out on the experience. Then we went straight to the Argentinian side where we had a cool hotel with another pool, finally 3 nights in one place, I even managed to get some washing done!!
The Argentinian side was even better than the Brazillian side. First we did zip wiring through the rainforest, I have no idea how high it was but it was very high.
Kate on the zipwire, our fun bus for the day
After three lots of Zip wires we got back on the huge truck thing still with our harnesses on and drove to a small waterfall area which we abseiled down, I was well scared going over the top but it felt ace when I got to the bottom and could watch everyone else doing it. Wow, what a feeling.
The group, Me abseiling at the top and the bottom!
The next day was speedboat riding over the rapids and into the actual falls. The water was so warm which was nice as we were already soaked from the immense rainfall! It´s weird how cold and wet we were in the morning and then in the afternoon after the speedboat the rain stopped and it cleared up into glorious sunshine again. After many more walks around the falls we eventually got the bus back to the hotel.
The nightlife here was weird to say the least. Had the best steak ever and a nice bottle of wine and all for about 6quid, bargain or what, and because of the antibiotics for my ear that was all I needed and I felt drunk! The club we went to after was like a meat market, very funny though, Pablo trying it on with all the boys, Richard and Ilona dancing the night away and it all ended in a spot of skinny dipping in the pool and trying to rob alcohol from the bar at the hotel and not succeeding – quite unusual for Kate she seems to be getting a dab hand at that!!
