Tango & Samba Toucan Tour
The group on boat trip in Paraty
So met everyone in our group on the Tuesday night and everyone seemed okay but was too nackered to go out drinking with anyone so just had a quiet night ready to set off to Paraty the next morning.
Paraty was amazing, definately recommended. Had 2 nights there in an ace pousada with a swimming pool – mainly used after lots of beer and late at night. It is this amazing little pirate town with cobble streets and lots of capirinhas and capifruitas on the streets, reminded me a little bit of Olinda. Went on a fab boat trip which stopped at various little islands for swimming and snorkeling and had lunch on the boat.
Swimming in the sea in Paraty and afterwards snoozing on the boat!
Went out for a thai meal for Stuart’s birthday that night and get very drunk and finished the night off with more late night swimming and vodka. The main highlight being Beano. This guy who looked like a cross between Mr Bean and Mr Muscle from another tour complaining about us being too noisy in the pool, it was only about 1am as well – you can imagine the response he got from 15 very drunk people! Really got to know the group whilst in Paraty and think we were really lucky, everyone was ace and it is the people that help make tours, not just the tour itself.
Stu’s birthday, midnight swimming and getting drunk with Nicky.
Sao Paulo was the next stop, not recommended, very boring city, although I did go to see the family I met at Recife airport and had lunch with them and they invited me to stay with them either in Sao Paulo or in Recife where they also have a house so that may come in handy in the future! They are amazing people, I still cant get over how hospitable they are, you just dont get that in the UK.
The Family I visited in Sao Paulo
Most people went to a sex show whilst there but I didnt bother as yet again I was ill, cold and cough this time, probably from all the alcohol and late night swimming! Had beer and guitar entertainment in the boyz room first which was ace and then went to bed when everyone else went out. Think that was about all there was to do around here anyway as we were right in the gay area and it was pretty seedy at night, dont think we missed out on much.
Partying in the boyz room, Dan entertaining us, Church in Sao Paulo, group in Sao Paulo.
Curitiba was quite a cool city, the most wealthy in Brazil. There wasnt really too much to do there though and still felt pretty rough so just wandered around the old town and the Japanese gardens and made the most of the nice hotel with a jacuzzi. Oh well next stop Iguassu, cant wait, should be fab – apart from the long 10 hour bus journey to get there! At least we all get on well and can have a laugh together on the bus.

Hi Aymi,
you seem to be having fun – is it as you thought it would be or different – do you think it will feel like the norm after a while and you wont ever be able to settle in blighty again.
Its same old here – it was snowing last week when i was in Wales looking at a job
Keep up the reporting – i very often have a look at it on a wet and miserable Monday morning –
see you soon(ish)
