Portrait of an Artist in St. Petersburg
In the middle of souvenir hell we met an artist. An artist who is passionate about photography, his family, and Led Zeppelin. We discussed pre-revolutionary Russia and Soviet Russia. He showed us some brilliant photography of his German wife, and his Russian wife, and his daughter, Sasha. Twenty years of my life in St. Petersburg are in these photographs he says. He insisted we drink vodka to warm up on a chilly overcast day, and taught us about double exposure and composition in a photograph.
And then we danced.
And jumped.
And danced.
A photograph by the artist himself (It’s all about the composition)
