Sitting in the Vortex of Bell Rock
Sedona, Arizona, is known for its spectacular red rocks and the four sites identified as having a vortex described by some as “a hot spot of natural energy.” The official travel literature says that these vortexes “are believed to create positive, negative and neutral releases of the Earth’s energy, a heightened sense of awareness, an awakening of the spirit and even divine intervention.”
The following is how I felt sitting on a rock in the vortex of Bell Rock.
The view is massive.
The air is cool and clear.
The sky is shades of cloudy white.
The rocks are striations of red, orange, and gray.
The chaparral is bright green, yellow green, dark green, all shades of short green.
The wildflowers are a riot of color in miniature.
The sounds of civilization are intermittently distant.
The silence is golden and soft.
My eyes are filled with gratitude for what nature has left behind.
My feeling is wonder at the beauty and timelessness of it all.
My mind is meditative.
My heart is peaceful.
My spirit sings a happy song.
I am unequivocally joyful.
