Just finished our trekking route planning for the following six full-days: Day 1: Pokhara-Sangardokt-Landruk Day 2: Landruk-Ghandruk Day 3: Ghandruk-Tadapani Day 4: Tadapani-Ghorepani-Poon Hill (3,390mts) Day 5: Poon Hill-Tatopani (Hot Springs and snow) Day 6: Tatopani-Beni-Pokhara (45 kms on foot?! It's nuts!!!) http://ncthakur.itgo.com/map09.htm In Pokhara, we're staying at Ganga's place, called Amrit Guest House-Lakeside. Jake and his wife are staying here too until Tuesday. On Sun., we take the bus at 7 am from Pokhara to Kath. Will depart from Kath on Mon. at 13:30 h. Comments
A friend of mine just got back from Nepal, it's his 4th times, got great pics. I am sure you will have fun. Thought about trekking up there when I was in Paki but didn't have enough time and $. Je suis retournee a Pokhara en ce moment...on n'avait pas recontre les Maos mais on avait mange avec les militaires! Le Royal Nepali Army etait en train de preparer une grand attaque contre la guerilla et ils etaient dans notre meme hotel pres du Beni. Bien sur, on avait bcp peur car dans le soir, les militaires etaient sortis a les montaignes pour batter les "Maobadi" (Maos en Nepali)...A la matin prochaine, on etait marche a Beni comme un courant d'air...sans prendre le petit dejeuner! J'ai bcp de choses a raconter...c'est le meilleur, la gens du Nepal qui je me suis recontree et qui sera toujours dans mon coeur...Ils me manque tant... A warning:in general terms, it´s not the best time to go there. The Maos have called for a 5-day strike on Feb.25th and the military is after a big attack.
