Australia outline
Sunday, March 23rd, 2008Booked the last of about 13 flights from US to OZ. Decided to take some time in Tazmania, New Zealand as well as Australia. We are looking forward to exploring Taz. looks like we will be there about a week. Final trip has us in Oz from Sept. 13, 08. to Oct 11. Hope at least there is a good movie or two on the flight. Also looking to buy a pocket computer to take with. After Africa, packing for Oz seem to easy. Looking for a diving class this summer to get my certification<img src=”http://widgets.bootsnall.com/countdown/img.php?tracker=76″
Planning flights to Australia, and Tazmania.
Monday, January 21st, 2008Looks like we are going to fly Quantis from LAX to HBA via MEL. Since we fly different airlines all the time, we never build enough miles to upgrade, and on Quantis, you cannot make seating reservations until you are at the airport check in. Most major carriers you can get seating assignments and check in on line. Not so with Quantis. All is done at the airport, since we are coming from the eastern US we will just fly in early to grab some good “steerage” seats. Our travels on this trip will take us to Tasmania, Australia and New Zealand. Plane ride will be a bit long as usual, hope that the AVOD will be in order, since the flight time from LAX is 15:15. I must make sure to bring some duck tape for my head so it doesn’t explode. Good price, but nothing like flying steerage.
Africa trip wrap up, now on to Australia.
Wednesday, December 26th, 2007Finished the Africa trip, British Air was better than expected. We went to Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa. We stayed in some nice lodges. Went on two games drives a day for about three weeks, needless to say we saw the big five plus many more. Loved flying the small bush planes, you can get a nice view of the delta when flying low. We also made it to the Cape of Good hope, the lowest point on the African continent, and since we also have been in Nordkapp, Norway, the highest point on the European continent it seemed like we did something, not sure what tho. We are now planning a trip to Australia and New Zealand. You can find the pictures at www.andrew-rabatin.org. If you have any questions on safaries or the photos just leave me a note.
