Africa trip wrap up, now on to Australia.
Finished the Africa trip, British Air was better than expected. We went to Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa. We stayed in some nice lodges. Went on two games drives a day for about three weeks, needless to say we saw the big five plus many more. Loved flying the small bush planes, you can get a nice view of the delta when flying low. We also made it to the Cape of Good hope, the lowest point on the African continent, and since we also have been in Nordkapp, Norway, the highest point on the European continent it seemed like we did something, not sure what tho. We are now planning a trip to Australia and New Zealand. You can find the pictures at www.andrew-rabatin.org. If you have any questions on safaries or the photos just leave me a note.

Andrew,
Loved your pics of the OAT Ultimate Africa trip.
My wife and I are going in May. I’ve been wondering how strictly they enforce the 26 pound total weight for checked+carryon limit. We have been on quite a few trips where we were told of strict limits on size, weight, etc. only to get there and find others in the group with luggage large enough for a 6-month journey who suffered no penalties whatsoever.
I have 8-10 pounds of photo equipment alone. Do you think that will be a problem?
Thanks,
David Evans

they do enforce the 26 pound limit but there are ways. I carried a NikonSLR, Video Cam and pocket pentex, Garmin GPS 60 CXS, and an I pod. Make sure you have the adapters, since they do the laundry at each camp each day, you can go light on the cloths. laundry is free.
Im in Luxor Egypt now and have internet but not sure about after March 2. 09.
OAT will sent duffel to pack in. we found it to be no problem, but the single engine planes are weight sensitive.
