Africa Safari Planning Stages Oct 2007
Starting again. Have decided to go to Africa and go on Safari. We will be flying from NYC to LHW to CPT. We have a day room for the long layover in LHW. Will be flying BA. Thought when we made the reservations that it would be a different airline to try, since I have not been on BA. So far I have found them to be a bit of a pain. Cant make seat reservations for coach seats until 24 hours before the flight. We were able for a modest fare to upgrade to economy plus, but could only do it one way, even though there are seats open both ways, we are in the wrong bucket to get a cheap upgrade on the way home. But some seat may open up. Probably going to sleep all the way back anyhow. We will be in South Africa, Chobe • Caprivi • Okavango Delta • Hwange • Victoria Falls, Kruger National Park Cape Town & the Cape of Good Hope. Right now I’m changing cameras sold my D-70 and going with a D-80 a bit smaller and lighter and updated chips. We are limited to 26lbs of luggage, because we will be taking small planes at times, so each ounce counts.
