I have been living in Door County for more than a decade. During this time I’ve had mixed feelings about this beautiful place. First of all, I am from Indonesia and with areas of the country both north and south of the equator, other than in highland regions, it is characterized by a relatively hot and humid tropical weather. On the other hand, for a girl who rarely say weather dipping below 85F, Door County, in contrast seems like, and how some folks affectionately refer to it, “a Frozen Tundra”. Where is Door County? Door County is located in north-east Wisconsin. It is a long peninsula. a thumb like appendage jutting north and towards the east of Green Bay. It lays between two joining bodies of water, the a bay also called Green Bay to the west and Lake Michigan to the east. It has a superb natural beauty to compliment it’s intriguing geographical setting. it’s an attractive magnet, famous as a summer playground of for people who visit from many areas of the midwest - and more and more people who find themselves drawn here from many other corner of North America or from other nicks and crannies of the world.
