I have a site where all things related to the Alaska trip (officially called Fort Worth to Inuvik) are located. The site is Fort Worth to Inuvik - a 34 day road trip

Work has officially allowed Dennise and I to take May 28th to June 29th off for vacation. We have a few rough iteneraries that I hope will work. Since we had to cut it down to 30 days, we will make our longest drives getting to the north. That will be 3 days of hard driving to get up into Canada. But once we are there, we will slow it down and I figure our first agenda will be to go to Inuvik and then Alaska and then if time allows come down the West coast.

Well, my health has improved greatly and so we are looking to at least do the Alaska portion of our journey. If our employeer says all is well then we will be looking to head out on our journey on May 28th.

My Health has become a snag in our plans. My life long heart problem has decided to rear its head and remind me that I am going to be limited in some way. In this case a blood clot and an irregular rhythm has us in a holding pattern on the direction of our trip. We believe we will still do Alaska, but going to Europe may be shortened a great deal or canceled for next year all together.

This completly frustrates me. Coming so close to doing something great, and being held back by something uncontrolled.

I have dreamed of driving to the little town of Inuvik since I graduated college in 1993. I did not go then because I was out of school and had no cash. Since then I have overly involved myself into the daily ritual of work and trying to get to make sure I maintain a stable position. Since I married my wife, she has strongly encouraged that I go after my dream of driving to Inuvik and Alaska. But like our honeymoon we have decided that we need to add onto that trip and go after Dennise's dream as well..... so we are adding Europe to the trip

We hope to make our trip last 5 months.

Dennise and I met at work in Fort Worth, Texas. We got to know each other, talked about travel and I asked her if she wanted to go to Mexico with me for my birthday. She wanted to do some traveling herself, and wanted to see Paris again and so we decided we would also add that into the trip.

Time flew by fast and we got to know each other more and more. About two weeks before our vacation we decided it would be better to turn the trip into a honeymoon. So I proposed to her and we had a great 8 day engagement, got married and headed out to see Paris and the Puerto Vallerta

We keep on traveling and have a huge trip planned next year.
