Fading into Bolivian…er, Argentina rather

maradona-tyson.jpg

“He called me a ‘rapist’ and a ‘recluse.’ I’m not a recluse.” (ed. note: 90 % of the time spent on this entry was used deciding which famous Tyson quote to place)

How could I forgot about this - a few months ago Iron Mike appeared on Diego Maradona’s cheesy but very popular late night show, “La Noche con Diez” (A Night with 10). If you don’t know, Diego Maradona (known by many just for his old number, 10, duh) is considered one of the greatest living soccer legends in the world – up there with Pelé – and is a national hero in Argentina. I actually saw the show the day after Tyson appeared on it, and had to say it was exactly what you’d expect from Mike Tyson, trying to talk to a foreigner who doesn’t speak English – pure comical genius. Today I randomly came across this picture from the show, and really believe this one says 1,000 words, perhaps even many more. It’s been awhile Mike, but you finally got your KO…in unintentional comedy.

Hey I like your blog. Keep up the great commentary. One comment: I think the title “La Noche del 10″ is more in reference to 10 in Argentina being “the best” (A+ is a 10) and the time of night the show aired rather than an homage to El Dios’ number. Chau

Manodedios - While I appreciate the feedback, I regret to inform you that after a survey of locals, it´s been clearly corroborated that ¨diez¨ (10) is in reference to his number. Stay vigilant though - it keeps me on my toes.

Seff - those t-shirts have been sweeping this nation for quite some time now. Imagine walking down the streets and seeing girl after girl professing their love for you on their sleeves (shirts, rather in this case). Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.
