Well, I am now vaccinated against Hepatitis A and Typhoid thanks to the Portland Public Clinic. I have just a few more preparations to make before departing for Costa Rica.

Here is my somewhat tentative itinerary for my trip:

- Feb 15 - Arrive in San Jose, CR
- Feb 15 - 21 - Travel and sightsee on way to San Luis / Monteverde area
- Feb 21 - Mar 4 - Fox Maple Timber Framing Workshop (link)
- Mar 5 - Mar 11 - Travel and sightsee on way to Boruca
- Mar 12 - Apr 12 - Volunteer construction work with Brunka community (link)
- Apr 12 - Apr 14 - Travel to San Jose for departure

For at least six weeks, I will be fortunate enough to be living with Ticos (Costa Ricans) in their homes, where only Spanish is spoken. I have been working diligently on my Spanish in preparation for this immersion. My vocabulary is limited, but I have faith that broken sentences and smiles will get me by!
