Two weeks is a lot to detail, so I'm going to try the bulleted version of the trip to Hotevilla, a Hopi community on the Third Mesa of the reservation in northeast Arizona. Here we go....

This week, a delegation from the United Nations will be in Washington, D.C. to meet with the Department of the Interior about the potential of having the United States accept the U.N.'s proposed Declaration of Indigenous Rights. It is unlikely that you will hear about this meeting in the press or elsewhere, so I thought this would be an appropriate vehicle for spreading some information...

I talked with my family from San Luis several times after departing for Boruca a month ago. In each conversation, I was asked when I would be returning for another visit. Initially, I didn't think that I would have the time to make it back to San Luis, but my early departure from Boruca to meet with Jose Carlos in San Jose left me ample time. So at 8:30PM on Thursday, I snuck through the back door of Jenny's house for a bit of a surprise...
