I'm 28, born and bred in Scotland, lived all (most of) my life on the banks of Loch Lomond. Had various jobs throughout the years - worked in a BT Call centre for 6 years, an internet sales company for 1 year and my most recent job was as a restaurant supervisor in a Hotel. Last year I spent 10 months working in Gran Canaria which was the most fun I've ever had but exhausting. Since coming home fromn Gran Can, I've spent all year working and saving for my big trip. And now it's finally here - I leave on December 1st 2004. Bit nervous about travelling alone but thanks to the wonder of the internet, I've arranged to meet loads of fellow travellers along the way.
The plan is New York for three days, LA for one week with a sidetrip to Las Vegas, Fiji for 10 days, NZ for three months, Australia for 6/7 months, and finally Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand for two months. I'm sure my plans will change along the way but I'll keep you all posted. Wish me luck!

Im a fellow scot whos just returned from a years round the world trip very similar to yours. If you need any advice get in touch. We also went to oz. NZ,FIJI, USA,S.E ASIA= etc

Hiya! I hope you enjoy your trip. IŽm currently in Peru but will be leaving South America on 23 December for NZ and the Cook Islands. IŽll be in NZ until 28 Feb and will probably do the Kiwi Experience circuit from Auckland back to Auckland. After this IŽll be in Melbourne to make my way up the East Coast - not sure how yet. Anyway, keep in touch and let me know where you are etc and hopefully weŽll meet up for a beer or three!

I hope it all goes well and you have a fab few months before we meet up so we can exchange strange and bizarre stories hehe ..
I'm having a great time but really should have done this alone as things are abit constraphobic with me & Chris so have now rented my own beach hut (only costs 5 pounds per night) and situated right next to the beach. Meeting up with Kiwi couple later to go to thai boxing so that should be fun.
