Congratulations! You have joined me on this most auspicious day. I am officially a writer. This is the achievement of a lifetime ambition before i have actually left the country.

My plan for this section of the site is to unload my story as it happens. You never know, someone may actually read it, like it, and then that's when the sponsorship comes rolling in.

OK. I have made the bold step of changing jobs to increase my saving capacity. Basically I need to preserve some serious sterling in the old bank of mine if I am going to leave the Midlands. The usual story. So I have a 12 month contract for a new job which pays pretty poorly but willl keep me occupied up until my leaving date. I'll be spending a year, if my sanity can stand it, scrimping and generally living the life of a tight git. I plan to put aside a ton a week for 52 weeks. That gives me plenty to high ho out of here. I'll also have a wee while to perouse plenty of travel literature in anticipation of my trip.

Where to go?

How anyone can decide this one is beyond me. I have ideas but i change my mind more often than my pants.

Who with?

Probably on me tod. Although my brother would like to go if he could stop pissing his money on boiled sweets.

Next step?

Well I'm going to get through today at work. Only 7 hours left and then i'll head home, stretch out in my garden and crack open a bottle of Califrnian red. Quite the trick this time of year, subtle, plummy fruity tastey.
