Leeds. again

You somehow don't expect there to be sky in Leeds. There is so much going on above eye level that the sky seems just an insignificant covering over the top. So when it is actually interesting, it makes the view...

Birmingham - leave it!

I should really have realised that villages around Birmingham weren’t necessary grimy slums of decaying houses! The problem is that my entire experience of Birmingham is on the train. You arrive at roof height, gazing across over-run gardens to wiggling...

Blakey ridge - music on the moors

On Thursday we went to “Blakey Ridge – the UKs most remote music venue” for their annual music festival. Drove up onto the moors, with the heather as purple as I have seen it! Camping was in the field below...
