I was very excited when I arrived in Australia because I had never been there before and I had heard so many good things about it! It took a long time to actually get to Australia because although we were only in Bali we had to fly back to Singapore to get a flight to Sydney - this involved a ten hour wait in Singapore airport!! It wasn't that bad though because, as those who have been there will know, there is a lot to do at Singapore airport - it has its own pool, cinema, massage places, free internet and web cam access, lots of restaurants, hotel and beds you can rent for a couple of hours. Therefore we kept ourselves amused!!!! Managed to eventually get through customs in Sydney airport after I had been given the 3rd degree about my wooden Buddha and Hindu god!!! I was a bit apprehensive about staying in a hostel and sharing a room with people I didn't know but when we got here I was pleasantly suprised. I love our hostel now, we have met so many nice and good people. I have made loads of new friends, everyday new people arrive, and unfortunatley, so do people leave. While we have been in Sydney we have done quite a bit - we have been for a tour of the Opera House, been to Taronga Zoo, walked over the bridge, sunbathed on Bondi beach, walked from Bondi to Coogee beach, been to the Botanical Gardens a lot and lots of other stuff I won't bore you too much with!!! The weather had been good, very hot so I have been improving my tan! We have been also going out quite a bit. The nightlife is really good here and, as we are staying in Kings Cross, a lot of pubs are 24 hours so most nights actually end around 6am! Having a great time at the moment; doing some waitressing to save up some money so will probably be here in Sydney for a couple of months yet. I will keep you informed! Love to all x x x x
