February 01, 2005Bio
At the ripe old age of 26, I decided that the time was right to quit an otherwise perfectly suitable job and head off on a bit of an adventure. What sort of factors played into this decision? Well, I've been a resident of Virginia (US) for around 13 years now, and while there are plenty of interesting people and places, they hardly compare to the allure of some of the areas I'd like to visit: Patagonia, Amazonia, China, etc. At present, this trip is planned as a pure battle of attrition between me and my bank account. I'm hoping to circle the globe, spending a good six months in South America, before heading off to Asia and finally Europe (hey if you're going to lose a war of finances, may as well go out in style). I stand about 6'4", which is pretty tall, even for travelling around the States, so I'm looking forward to plenty of knee-biting bus rides and waist-high shower heads. No complaints, though, I could be stuck in the office. Hoping to enjoy the ride!! Comments
Well if you flew to Buenos Aires, it looks like your bank account is winning so far. Couldn't you get a job as a tarantula exterminator on a banana boat to Honduras? Time to get serious... Posted by: Quick Silver on February 4, 2005 06:34 PMI hear there's good money in tarantula extermination, at least by Honduran standards, and as such, I'm the man for the job. Unfortunately, I'm deathly afraid of bananas. Pity. Thanks for the tip, though. Posted by: Luvnlife_sa on February 17, 2005 08:54 PM |
