From the Beginning….

Hungry? I am. Hungry to do something. Hungry to make a difference outside of my neighborhood. Hungry to do something so far out of my control that I must rely on God to do it. What about you?

A small church in Texas decided that, indeed, they were hungry.
With miracuosly provided funds, seven of us headed to the West African country of Senegal. We had no idea what was instore for us. All we knew is that we were hungry.

And we were fed. The truth of the matter is, the person doing the serving is always the most blessed. We found ourselves working with a group of boys, the Talibe. They were physically hungry, in rags for clothes, and sporting a variety of skin issues, scabies as bad as you could ever imagine.

Is there really power in a Cookie Monster Band-Aide? I don’t think so. The power, the power to bring a smile, is in love. God is love.

Oh, we were fed well in Senegal. Yet, I am still hungry. This blog is about how a small group of committed folks can make a meaningful difference outside our neighborhood. So, come hungry, and come thirsty!
