“I have a house in M’bour.” Not a sentence I ever thought I would be saying. Nevertheless, we got a house!
In just five days of hard work our group was able to rent a five bedroom, large living room, nice foyer, detached kitchen, one inside bathroom and one “squatty potty” outside, beatufil ocean view from the roof house! Beds have been delivered, the fridge is in as well as the new stove. We had it painted and it is ready for us go to work.
We will be heading back on April 23 for a couple of weeks. Our ministry to the Talibe boys has increased. The local Serigne (Talibe leader) will now bring the boys to us so we can get them into new clothes, bathed and fed. It is heart warming to see these boys leave the house with a smile and new pair of flip-flops.
I discovered the universal language of soccer. One of our men, who speaks no French or Wolof at all, was able to entertain twenty boys for an hour with a small soccer ball. Some things transcend speech!
