He's Canadian, I'm British, and armed with working holiday visas we are going to New Zealand for a year. Eric's a photographer and I'm a writer, so we hope to update frequently with journal entries and photos. We leave Saskatoon, Canada in 2 hours for Vancouver - then Honolulu, Fiji and eventually Auckland.

It still doesn't seem quite real yet, but last night we saw the Northern Lights sweeping across the freezing sky - I think this can only be a good omen.
