Deep cove is a beautiful place to be on a sunny day such as this.  Getting here was difficult: today a swarm of motorcylists took over Boundary road, and put traffic to a grinding halt.  I was fortunate that I wasn’t relying on the bus to get to Deep Cove: I would have been late for my appointment.

I had only to take a bus for the second half of the trip, and that was made possible by the end of the motorcycle ride.

On the bus, I’d learned that my brother still had my monthly bus pass and I was strictly out of luck.  This annoyance exacerbated my negative emotions, so I’d walked to the local A&W to grab something to drink to make change.

I wanted to share this activity, but I could not.

I would have to do this alone from now on.  It was something about what the woman told me yesterday that compelled me to do this.  Being part of a team, I was used to sharing, waiting, and I was opening up to the idea of passing on China to head to South America, but it will be a journey I make alone.

The adrenaline rush buoyed me for a little while, but my forearms were paying for it.  Wakeboarding demands a strong core, and endurance in the forearm muscles.  I can feel it even now, as I type.

When I finished, I walked up to the office in town to pay my dues, and heavy-heartedly purchased the same package for her.  It will be my last gift, and I hope that she will accept it.
