November 29, 2004Pre-travel Anxiety
I'm running around like a madman trying to tie up all the loose ends for the trip. I wish I'd remembered to take a photo of the line at the Visa Fair here in Los Angeles on Saturday. They only gave out 400 visas. I was number 392 and I got there about an hour early. They turned away about 250 people. It took the whole darn day to get it. I started standing in line at 8 AM. I got to the desk at 1:30 and had to wait until 4PM to pick my passport and Visa up. I sent out six reservations for hotels in Mumbai and only got two responses. I booked the one that go back to me the quickest despite the fact that its a little over my stingy budget. Its going to be a struggle to pull myself away from the office since there is always one issue that is on the cusp of being resolved, but Francine the wonderwoman can take care of those things. My dining room table is lined up with esentials, pharmacy - malarone, antibiotics, sleeping pills...- memory sticks, camera, journal, flashlight, toiletries, blah blah blah and I can't find my big suitcase in the midst of all the things I moved into my house. Hopefully the next entry I make will be from India. I know I won't have time before then. Posted by Rob H on November 29, 2004 05:56 PM
