when things got a little hot on isla holbox, i headed for the roof of hotel la palapa. there was a lovely shelter over a few hammocks and the breeze was always sweet. or one could lie in the sun and periodically rinse off under the conch-shell shower-head up there. heaven!!!
part of a day trip i took to misol-ha, agua clara and agua azul during my stay in palenque town. only $10 (from multiple agencies - i used to one next to the bus station in palenque town) and a lovely way to spend the day! chiapas is so rich in waterfalls and beautiful rivers.
