March 06, 2006The Mother Land...
Laos, January 5 - 16, 2006 I have traveled through the jungle for 15 hours with the only sign of civilization being a village. I have walked an entire city in 10 minutes. I have waded in waters of clear water creeks and seen the flow of crystal rivers. I have landed in a valley of green with the walls being jungle and the roads being unpaved. I have seen the laughter of children on bicycles as the roam from house to house. I have seen fresh vegetables picked from the ground. Tasted ice cream made out of fresh squeezed juice and milk from a cow. I have seen the native people and seen the face of an Otovalian Indian. I have closed my eyes and envisioned that this place was the Mother Land, 100 years ago. It is amazing how my Mother Land has changed due to growth, progress, tourism, yet there is one place that remains the same. Laos.... Comments
