October 02, 2005Henna Application
September 16, 2005 - Meknes It makes all the difference bargaining when you are will "the people"... I think Price and I were quoted from 125 Dirhams per person with the lowest being 50 Dirhams per person. With the locals bargaining, my cost was all of 15 Dirhams. I was so intrigued by the beauty of the woman and the quickness of the applicaton that I almost overlooked that the henna was applied with a syringe. Henna is like mudd, in both looks and in texture and the reality of the instrument was only Periodically the syringe had to be refilled but since the paste was so thck, she had to suck the needle tip to have the henna pass through. Again, I find a job...I would not want.
