Day 3 and all is well....

I've been living alone these last three days in a lovely "flat" in walking distance to the "tube" i.e. metro. I can't wait to meet my host, Maiken and I'm thankful to Lauren for the referral. The accomodations couldn't be any better.

Since my arrival in London, I've become familiar with the Tube (metro), bus transportation and also the national rail. Day one was busy with visiting London, while yesterday I went to Canterbury and today I spent a lovely day in Salisbury and Stonehedge. England in 5 days...and it's been great, to date.

Thanks to Dan Lash, I'm well aware that I've taken 53,592 steps and walked 27.55 miles. I think most of that was spent walking out of Heathrow Airport and finding my way around the massive connections in the "Tube" but who's to say.

Regardless, it's pricy here in England and if I translate my spending to US$s...I'm way over budget. On day 1, I picked up a ham and cheese sandwhich at a little corner DIVE and about died when I realized that my poor palet was over $14 US dollars...where's Moby Dick when you need it?

Things I'm thankful I bought...fleece (Thank You Price) and pocket pants...
Things I already miss, highlighter and post it flags for travel organizing..
First thing to get thrown away...the "good" bra...who needs one of those anyways?

It's not raining in Stuffy Old England and they aren't so stuffy....at least they don't seem to be....my only sense of "I don't belong" was this morning as I sat on the "Tube" (metro). As I viewed the obvious "not to be bothered and somewhat grim" surroundings, they were fashionably dressed in their black, conservative wear....and I in my HOT pink. I stood there among the masses and just started to laugh.

Paulina's first steps in this big world and I still can't believe I'm doing this....somebody pinch me!
