Goodbye Responsibility, Hello World!!
Many people who know me, know I’ve been talking of a long trip for a few years now. However my career seemed to hold me back, ok, so maybe I held myself back. But, things are about to change! The career is no longer rewarding and my body is starting to reject the stress levels I’m living with. So, as of the end of September, I will no longer be employed.
It’s taken about a week of reflection to come to this decision. I’ve planned long trips over and over and over again for years now. Yesterday, I came across this quote by Mark Twain…
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” — Mark Twain
Do I really have a choice? No! Now it’s crunch time. It’s time to put my head down, do my job, save all my money and sell everything I own! I have 3 months and counting until departure.
The question is, where do I go? I know I’m flying into Ireland, as I’m planning a 6 week roadtrip with Mich, but where do I go after that? At this point, who knows. The best part is that I AM GOING! FINALLY!
