Nelson, BC

Breathtaking!  That`s the word for Nelson.  After days and days of rain in Southern Alberta, I was thrilled to be driving the 6 hrs to Nelson for a couple days of R&R.  The drive along HWY 3 through the mountains of B.C. is fantastic.  Everything is very lush and green, which hasn`t been a common colour in Southern Alberta for the past few years.

While in Nelson, I`m staying at the Dancing Bear Inn.  It`s fantastic.  The Inn has this eclectic, hippy feel to it and very comfy.  Although one of women in my room was a tad odd.  There is nothing like being awoken at midnight by some lady who thinks your cell phone is beeping!!  I told her it wasn`t mine and to leave me alone.  She wasn`t getting it.  At one point, my response was “You woke me up out of a deep sleep for this? Are you serious?!”. She finally left me alone, but left the room to track down the girl who was above me.  Can you believe it? She made it sound like her phone had been beeping for an hour…which I can tell you, it wasn’t!

The next day was beautiful.  Blue skies, with very few clouds.  I relished the freedom I had to drive around, explore and take photograph after photograph.  Not too mention a great nacho dinner at a random pub with this super hot guy, George.  Nelson, was a great town, and a great getaway.  I will definitely return again!
